Over "The Hills" for more Fashion


Lauren Conrad of "The Hills" is launching a clothing line called L.C. Lauren Conrad at Kohl's department store. The line is going to be more affordable compared to her last clothing brand in which a dress cost an average of $200. She is planning on adding a shoe collection, lingerie, accessories, and pajamas if all goes well. The actress is admired for her cute clothes and style which the youth market wants to emulate.

Quest Magazine, about New York social and haute life style, has Natasha Blodgett on the September cover. She has been featured on the cover because she has made the social circuit and is on the internet's fame game. Blodgett is wearing a purple Bottega Veneta dress and Leviev diamond jewelery while standing on a balcony overlooking NYC. This is Quest's fall fashion issue.

English Princesses Storm London Fashion Week

Popping up at nightclubs and runway shows all over London, these two sisters Beatrice and Eugenie of York, 19 and 21 respectively, are fast becoming fashion icons.They have been seen sporting youthful British labels such as Luella, Alice Temperley,and Issa.

No more Prescriptives



Prescriptives Cosmetics is going out of business along with many other retailers. Prescriptives is a subdivision of the Estee Lauder brand and has not been performing well. Lauder states that it's part of the companies restructuring. Hopefully, Bobbi Brown and Clinique are going to be around.

Fashion Night Out NYC and Around the Globe



Before the invitations to the traditional haute couture NYC fashion week go out, New York will be hosting Fashion Night Out. Some events will be on September 10th and 11th. On the 10th stores will be open to 11 P.M.. The proceeds from their t-shirts promoting this fashion fiesta will go to help the World Trade Center Museum and Memorial development, in addition to restoring customer confidence and celebrating fashion. It is organized by Vogue, the CFDA, and New York & Co.. Saks will have Donna Karan's debut division opening at Saks' and Justin Timberlake will be at their new eatery ,Snaks, Carolina Herrera will have a magician and Eli Tahari will also be there. Photographer, ,Arthur Elgort, will be painting a model in Sak's window. Bergdorf Goodman will be another store involved and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen will be bartenders at their 7th floor restaurant. Bendel will have a multitude of artists and designers including, Gucci Westland , director for Revlon. Oscar de la Renta will sing at his store and other celebrities such as Kate Hudson is at Stella McCartney. Sienna Miller, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Anna Sui's pop out store with her Target line modeled after the "Gossip Girls" will be in the Meat Packing district and Soho boutiques to promote FNO. M.A.C. will have free make up applications with a purchase and Gossip Girl,Taylor Momsen, will be on Bleeker Street after Teen Vogue's fashion show. The National Jeans Co. will give some proceeds to an organization to benefit Aids and Magnolia Bakery will decorate a fashion cupcake. Most of Madison and Fifth Avenue stores from Stuart Weitzman to Kate Spade will have a tribute to the program, even Clyde's drugstore will have top hair stylist John Barrett. There will be festivities such as; drinks, food and contests. FNO will offer discounts on merchandise and opportunities like being able to get your hair, make up, and photograph taken to become a potential model for designer Alice and Olivia. Christian Siriano of "Project Runway" will be on hand at Payless. For people who want to spend more, Dior will have a stylist and make up artist for the price tag of $2,500, but they have worked with top models and celebrities. Charlize Theron,face of Dior's J'adore fragrance, will be present at the boutique too. Marc Jacobs will also let you be in a photo shoot at his downtown boutique and Micheal Kors will promote his new fragrance "Hollywood" at Macy's in Herald Sq. along with an appearance by Anna Wintour. Americana at the Manhassat in Long Island will also be participating in Fashion Night Out, so it is not limited to Manhattan, all 5 NYC areas are taking part. It is also a global celebration with events in Madrid such as; Missioni and Pedro Almodovar teaming up with fashion and his new movie,"Los Abrazos Rotos",("Broken Embraces") which stars his muse Penelope Cruz. Some of the other countries participating are; England, India, France, Italy, Japan, Greece, Brazil, Taiwan, and China which feature the international stores, but their own country's stores.
